Ready, steady… GO!

Wow, what a fabulous sports day! The children competed well and enjoyed their family picnics. It was great to see so many parents racing!

On Monday Miss Burke and Miss Novell are treating the children to a toy picnic, as an end of year reward. Please make sure that your child brings a toy! Fingers crossed for good weather.

Summer Fair!

The children have had a busy week. They really enjoyed going upstairs to visit their new classrooms and today has been an exciting day dressed in our own clothes. Thank  you for the donations for the fair. We look forward to seeing  you all at the Summer Fair here tomorrow.

Making an impression!

This week Sky class enjoyed their sharing assembly. Thank you for coming along and supporting the children.

The children in Year One have been maniplulating clay to make African masks. The children have imprinted African patterns and are excited to paint them next week.

Times Table Challenge

This week the children have been practising their times tables. We have been counting in 5s and 10s. Over the weekend it would be great if you could practise the 5 and 10 times tables. Why not try using coins to calculate the answer?

Amazing Artwork!

The children’s art work is now finished and it looks amazing! They have worked very hard to create shapes and patterns using coloured paper and paint. We hope lots of you can join us tonight to see the tiles.

A Trip into the Past!

Yesterday we all enjoyed our trip to Chiltern Open Air Museum. The children were particularly impressed with the Iron Age round house.

Summer Solstice Exhibition

The children have been busy producing some beautiful tiles for the Art Exhibition to be held here at Alban City School on the 20th June. Don’t miss the chance to purchase your child’s master piece! Today we have been strutting our way around school in our groovy shoes for Groovy Shoes Day. The children looked very funky! Thank you for all your contributions for charity.

We would also like remind you of our Year One trip next Thursday. The children will need; pre-applied sun cream, sun hat, lightweight jacket, comfortable trainers/walking shoes and all children require a packed lunch in a named plastic bag that can be thrown away.

Sharing Our Achievements

It was great to see everyone tonight. We are both proud of the chidlren’s achievements so far this year. The children have worked very hard and it was lovely for them to share this with you. Have a super half term!

A week full of energy!

This week the children have been making electric circuits. We are learning about electricity as a source of energy.

I’ll Huff and I’ll Puff !

Story writing has been our focus this week and we have retold the story of  The Three Little Pigs using actions. This has really helped us to sequence it  and has been great fun.

We have also been giving directions to the Beebots in Maths. Keep practising your left and right at home.
