Little Red Riding Hood

This week our focus story is ‘Little Red Riding Hood’, we have been choosing items for Little Red Riding Hood to pack into her basket and then labelling these items, we are beginning to hear and say sounds in CVC words such as p-o-t, pot and are beginning to write them in the order that we hear them. In Maths this week we have been talking about the features/properties of 2D shapes and using these to help us sort shapes. In Understanding of the World we have been using objects from our natural environment to create transient art. In P.E. we have been enjoying team games, this week we took it in turns to be Little Red Riding Hood who was feeling mischievous and pulling off the Wolves’ tails (bibs), when this happened the Wolves had to stand still and wait for another Wolf to save them.

In Phonics we have learnt the sounds; s, a, t, p, i, n, m, d, g, o, c, k, ck, e, u, r.

This week we will also be sending home books with simple words in, can you spot any of the sounds we have learnt inside your book?
