School Meals

Hertfordshire Catering is our school meal provider. All meals are nutritious and freshly prepared on site and meet National Nutritional Standards. Hot meals are provided daily with food choices available to meet all diets. There is also the opportunity for children to bring their own packed lunches from home should children not wish to have a hot meal.

Current School Menu

Children in Reception, Year One and Year Two are entitled to a Universal Infant Free School Meal. For Children in Year Three, the cost of a school meal for 2018/19 is £2.40 per day. Meals should be paid for in advance so we ask that at the start of each half term you top up your child’s lunch account with our preferred method of payment using the online School Gateway account which we hope you will find to be the quickest and most convenient way to pay. If you are unable to pay online you can pay by cheque (payable to Alban City School) or if necessary cash which should be sent into school in an envelope marked with your child’s name and class (it is not possible to give change so the total cash received will be added to your child’s lunch balance).

To activate your School Gateway account all you need are your email address and mobile number that school holds on record for you.

Download the app: If you have a smartphone, please download School Gateway from your app store (Android and iPhone). The app shows the same information as the website PLUS it saves the school money when we send you a text message.

OR

Visit the website: www.schoolgateway.com and click on ‘New User’. You’ll receive a text message with a PIN number. Use this PIN to log into School Gateway.

If you’re having trouble logging in, it may be because we don’t have your current email and mobile phone number on record so please call the school and we’ll update the details on our system.

Fresh drinking water is provided for all children both in their classrooms and during meal times.

Children are provided with a piece of fruit or vegetable each day for their mid morning snack.
