Missing number problems

This week we have recapped on ai, ee, igh and oa in phonics. So far all the sounds we have recapped on are:

s a t p i n m d g o c k ck e u r h b f f l ll ss j v w x y z qu sh ch th ng ai ee igh oa

We are also recapping on the tricky words ‘was’ and ‘my’, and focusing on using the correct spellings in our writing now.

We are continuing to use adjectives in our writing about the Gruffalos child this week, whilst still remembering our capital letters and full stops! Next week we will move on from adjectives and will begin to identify and use rhyming words in our writing.

In maths we have been problem solvers this week, using different ways to find missing numbers. We have used our numbers bonds to find missing numbers to 10. We used counters to find missing numbers when we couldn’t use our bonds to 10 to help us. A video of how we did this will follow soon!

In Place and Time we began to use an atlas, finding the UK and naming and labelling the countries in the UK. Next week we will focus on capital cities in the UK.
