A busy week in Year 3!

Well, we’ve made it through our first full week! Both Amber and Vermillion have worked really hard and have completed some excellent work, as well as getting used to our new routines.

In English, we have been working on Instruction texts. We are using the text ‘How to wash a woolly mammoth’ and today, we used role play to help us create a set of instructions, washing a toy and recording our steps. We included imperative verbs and time conjunctions. We will be continuing in this theme next week; you can help at home by discussing your child’s homework with them.

Here are some pictures of us having fun washing our toys!

In maths, we have been working on Place Value. We have used the cherry model to partition numbers and order them. There is a picture below of an example of the cherry model.

In History, we are working on the Stone Age. We created questions and then used images to infer answers.

All children have now been given a reading book, a reading journal and a homework journal. The homework is on Google classroom, it is to undertake a chore (you’re welcome, parents!) and to create a set of instructions for this. This can be done online or written out if they’d prefer. Please see either Mr. Bushell or Miss Alexandre on Monday if you have any questions.

Well done Vermillion and Amber! Enjoy your weekend and we’ll see you next week.
