Black History Month

As part of Black History Month, the children were excited to find out about Mo Farah. They found out a bit about him, watched one of his races and enjoyed cheering him on.

We have also read a few stories about how people are different, which was a great stimulus for the children to be able to talk about how they are different to each other.

In Phonics we have learnt some more sounds.  These are: g, o, c, k

g        Spiral hand down, as if water going down the drain, and say g, g, g.

o        Pretend to turn light switch on and off and say o, o, o, o.

c k    Raise hands and snap fingers as if playing castanets and say ck, ck, ck.

We are learning the jolly phonics songs to go with the sounds so if you ‘d like the children to sing them to you, use the link below.

In maths we have been learning the rhymes for number 4 and 5
