Mesmerising Mudras and much more

What a busy week!

This week in literacy we have had a number of insightful discussions about the truly inspirational Katherine Johnson – a woman who paved the way for many African Americans and women in an era fraught with discrimination and segregation.   We have spent the week researching her life and achievements to write a biography next week.

Our focus in RE this week has been ‘mudras’ – spiritual hand gestures with significant meanings in the Buddhist religion.

Next week we are excited to host a remote speaker to talk to the classes about Humanism – a set of ethics or ideas about how people should live and act.

Over the last few weeks the children have been working on a comic, retelling the story of the Mayan Hero Twins.  Here are a selection to show you.
