What a busy week we have had!
In English, we wrote our stories based on The Dead Family Diaz and the Mexican celebration: Dia de los Muertos. Our main focus was using speech to move the action within the story along and to include a variety of literary techniques to create an appropriate atmosphere and develop a picture in the audience’s mind.
It was all fun and games in Computing this week when we sold the stocks and shares that we ‘invested’ in. As is the way with investments, some children made money and some children lost money. Next half term we will be looking at coding and using a micro:bit.
We had a wonderful afternoon this week completing our sculptures inspired by Alberto Giacometti and telling their stories of lockdown. Please take some time to enjoy our virtual Art Gallery below.
Year 6 Art Gallery
Christmas lunch was delicious this week with clean plates all round. We really enjoyed sitting and eating with the children, telling Christmas jokes and having a general chit chat.
Year 6 had a great time at the Christmas disco today. Please take a look at the brilliant photos of them showing off their dance moves.
Year 6 have also enjoyed a number of festive activities on Thursday and loved watching Coco ,which linked to our English topic, on Friday.
We would like to say a HUGE thank you for our wonderful and very thoughtful Christmas gifts. We really do appreciate them and can’t believe how spoilt we have all been!
We wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
From the Year 6 team
