In maths we have been focussing on using arrays to show repeated addition in 2s, 5s and 10s.
In English the children have really enjoyed learning about the life of Mary Anning an English fossil collector, dealer, and palaeontologist. They have worked on their comprehension skills and used the past tense to write a fact file about Mary Anning’s life and work.
Mary Anning’s life and work has also been our focus in History too. The children have had the opportunity to share their knowledge about dinosaurs and fossils. They discussed and explained why Mary Anning is an important historical figure. The children also brought in books about other significant historical figures. Today the children had lots of fun creating their own fossils using clay.
This week in phonics the children have revisited the phase 5 sounds; ey, i-e, o-e, a-e, u-e and tricky words some, come, were, there.
They all did really well in their spelling tests this week and we would like to thank you for helping them learn them. Please check book bags for this week’s spelling list.
