We have had another busy week in Reception. At the beginning of the week Reception went on an Autumn walk to find signs that Autumn was here. We had a list of things we wanted to find and bring back to school. These were conkers, leaves, apples and blackberries and sticks. We managed to find all of these apart from conkers. We found a chestnut tree and fallen leaves but no conkers. If you do see some conkers please send them in. When we got back to school we made apple crumble, stick men/women and we have been experimenting and creating with the natural objects that we brought back. Leaf rubbings have been a huge success!
In Maths we have been looking at repeating patterns and have used the natural objects to make patterns.
In Phonics we have been learning the sounds and actions for c, k, ck, e and u. We read our tricky words daily, which into, I, to , and, go, no, the.
On Wednesday we went to the fruit stall at St Albans market and we bought a selection of fruit so that we could make fruit kebabs with repeating patterns.
Have a lovely weekend 🙂
