This week in Phonics we have been learning the sounds c,k, f, l, ll, ss and how these are formed. We have looked closely at how the letters b and d are formed and the different sounds that they make.
In Maths we have been looking closely at the numbers 1, 2 and 3. The children have been subitising. This is when you look at a group of objects and can see how many there are without counting.
We have been closely looking at pumpkins and squashes. We have been feeling them and using words to describe them. We have used the magnifying glass to look closely at them and we have drawn them using pastels. We used the colours that we could see. Mrs Wonnacott brought in her soup machine and we made pumpkin soup. Some of us liked it, some of us didn’t! We have been reading ‘Pumpkin Soup’ by Helen Cooper.
We have been talking about different types of feelings. We have read the ‘Colour Monster’ and ‘The Way I Feel’.
Have a lovely weekend.
