Beegu has landed!

Welcome back,

We hope you all had a restful break.

This week in English, the children have enjoyed the adventures of an alien who is lost on Earth and needs to find her way back to her planet in the book  Beegu by Alex Deacon. Over the week, they have explored the  vocabulary used and discussed how the pictures help us understand the character’s emotions. The children wrote questions for Beegu, role played the story and wrote a description of a scene.

In Maths, we have been comparing amounts and finding the difference between them. The children have created their own pictogram, comparing the data to answer questions.

In Topic this week we have been learning about friendships and have been asking ourselves the question ‘what makes a good friend?’ We have drawn a picture of what good friend looks like and discussed it during circle time.

PE has changed to Wednesday and Fridays for Sky class and Mondays and Tuesdays for Aqua class – please make sure your child has their PE kit in school on these days. PPA has also changed for Sky class and Mrs Carter will now be teaching Sky class on Thursday mornings.

We are very sad to say goodbye to our student teacher Miss Nnamani in Sky class this week but wish her well as she goes back to university to continue her teacher training.

Please remember that Aqua class have their class sharing assembly next Friday the 8th March.

Have a wonderful weekend.

The year 1 team
