Alien invasion!

Hi everyone,

This week in English, the children have enjoyed continuing with the book Beegu, we started the week by writing instructions for games we would like to play with Beegu if she came to our playground, we also then wrote some questions to ask Beegu about her spaceship. As part of World Book Day we looked at the book ‘The Proudest Blue’ and wrote about things we are proud of on little boats which you will be able to see on display outside sky class soon.

In Maths, we have been learning all about money, we learnt the names of all the coins and notes before using them to make different amounts. Please continue this at home by asking your child if they can count out the coins needed to pay for something in a shop.

Our DT topic this week has been making alien finger puppets. We designed our alien before making it and evaluating our creation. The children will be taking their puppets home with them today.

This week as part of our ‘FEELIT’ emotional intelligence programme we looked at how being embarrassed might look and feel. We discussed occasions when we have felt embarrassed, how it presented and how to overcome it.

World  Book Day!

Careers Day! We had a talk from a  lawyer and  a project manager for LEGO.  We learnt about the skills you need to do the job and what is involved.

PE has changed to Wednesday and Fridays for Sky class and Mondays and Tuesdays for Aqua class – please make sure your child has their PE kit in school on these days.
