Books, bread and tarantulas!

Well this week has been a busy fun-filled one!  It feels like we have crammed two weeks into one!

Animal Man made his annual visit to Year 2 and showed us his animals.  We got to stroke them and hold them and were quiet and well-behaved so that we didn’t scare them.  His visit really brought our Science topic to life and we all loved the experience.

World Book Day also provided lots of excitement, starting with seeing what everyone was dressed up as.  What a great effort with costumes and cosy attire!  We had a wonderful day reading with our buddy classes, making and writing books, sharing our favourite places to read, making books for reception children and being library detectives in the library.  A super day was had by all.

To end the busy week we had some lovely parents come and talk to us about their careers.  Year 2 had a wedding planner business owner and a Civil Servant.  Both talks were really interesting.  We also had an assembly from the Police, talking about their jobs.

We also made bread rolls in DT.  They were delicious!

Would you believe that we’ve still managed to fit in some Maths and English too!

Have a lovely weekend!
