Alban City Netball Development

Alban City’s netball team are currently second in their spring league with 2 fixtures remaining and competed in the Year 6 St Albans Netball tournament held at Samuel Ryder, playing against 3 premier division sides. The girls worked really hard to compete with the higher level of opposition, scoring and playing some great netball.

As part of the school’s sporting development plan, Mr Clements has been working to increase the netball opportunities for pupils in KS2 which has resulted in him organising this years, Year 5 and Year 4 development tournaments.

Prior to these tournaments which are due to be held soon, both Year groups have played against schools to learn match skills and rules. Year 4 played really well with some flowing moves and keen accuracy when shooting to beat Prae Wood 5-0. Year 5’s have shown a keen interest with 20 children participating in the Year 5 netball club. All 20 played on Monday in two matches against Skyswood, the first ending 4-1 to Alban City and the second match finishing 0-4 to Skyswood.
