What a great week!

We started the week with a trip to the Cathedral, which was a brilliant way for the children to share what they have already found out about St Alban himself and the Romans, but also learn more through role play and exploration of artefacts. It was an amazing experience and I’m sure the children would like to take you there to share all that they now know!

In English we have read more about the Kapok Tree and are building up notes and a plan for next week’s writing.  We have spent time focusing on past tense verbs.

Our Maths lessons this week have involved a whole variety of fun activities to help embed our 2x, 3x, 5x and 10x tables.  We have played all sort of games and worked with partners.  Keep logging onto TTRockstars to help become super speedy at times tables.

In RE we read and talked about the story of The Prodigal Son and discussed the importance of ‘forgiveness’ and shared times when we have forgiven someone and how it made us feel.

Our FEELIT emotion this week is ‘miserable’.  We discussed things that make us feel miserable and what we look like when we are feeling miserable.  We all agreed that it is a low energy, unpleasant feeling.

To round the week off nicely we had fun in Golden Time, a reward for all our hard work!

Have a lovely weekend,

The Year 2 Team
