A special week of safety…

Good afternoon,

In PHSE this week, we have been focusing on safety. We started the week looking at road safety and car safety before thinking  about people in our communities who can help us. We made road safety posters focusing on the rule ‘stop, look and listen’.

In Maths, we have been learning how to double numbers using the 2 times table. We practised doubling using resources before we doubled a recipe for a smoothie. After we had doubled the recipe we made smoothies in the cooking room and all had a taster!

In English, we have started our new book ‘Naughty Bus’ by Jerry & Jan Oke. We looked at adjectives we could use to describe the appearance and personality of the bus before writing descriptive sentences in our books. We then started planning a journey our own naughty bus would take if it went to London for the day and what kind of mischief it would get up to.

Spellings for next week are:

  1. steam
  2. shirt
  3. cheer
  4. skate
  5. because
  6. little

As part of our Feelit programme, we have looked at how ‘relaxed’ might look and how it makes us feel.

Miss Hanbury would like to say a special thank you to the parents of Sky class for the generous and kind gifts she received.

Please remember next week is a 4 day week (Tuesday – Friday). Have a wonderful long weekend.
