Butterfly Flutterby!

And they’ve gone…

On Monday we said goodbye to all 10 of our beautiful Painted Lady butterflies. The Saffron butterflies all emerged over the weekend and were itching to be released, along with those from Gold class. We managed to let them go into the gardens in the church yard on a beautiful spring morning. Good luck butterflies!

Year 4 have worked really hard this week to complete their butterfly fact pages, which include detailed information about butterfly habitats, life cycles and food chains, as well as the work of a lepidopterist (a scientist who studies butterflies) called Hsu Yu-Feng who studies species in Taiwan. The fact pages are full of information and diagrams to help the reader understand.

In maths we have been working on the formal method of multiplication as well as lots of practise with our times tables. Please keep practising over the half term break.

We have also worked really hard on our art work of our Viking longships, which are now finished. We have used different painting techniques to bring our longships to life, as they head across the sea to their next raid! Watch out, the Vikings are coming!

We hope everyone enjoyed Sports Day this afternoon and wish you all a lovely half term break.
