Year 2 - Crimson and Scarlet

Welcome to Year 2.

Our Teachers are Mrs Garcia, Mrs Hanbury-Smith, Mrs Wood and Mr Bushell. Our Teaching Assistants are Miss Kotrcova and Miss Moss.

We have really enjoyed our topic of castles and can name all the features and their purposes, such as battlements, arrow slits, moat and drawbridge.  It has been great fun drawing and labelling castles, making models using boxes and construction.  This week we have focused on jobs within the castle and all the important roles that different people had.  We made booklets and top trump cards to show our learning.

In English we have used 'Zog' by Julia Donaldson to inspire some lovely descriptive sentences, using creative adjectives.  We have been very impressed with the children's handwriting and punctuation.  

In Maths we are working on number sequencing, using number lines and 100 squares, working out missing numbers.  

We have had a fabulous first few weeks in year 2.
