Fixtures

So far this term the school have competed in a total of 10 fixtures over the last 7 week. It has been fantastic to see the children compete so brilliantly with smiles on their faces the entire time.

On Wednesday 11th October, the girls team at ACS kicked off their season against Prae Wood and made a positive start, learning quickly how to use the space and pitch. They ended the half 3-1 down following three quick goals on the counter from Prae Wood before Mary-Catherine struck to get a goal back. The girls showed real determination and resilience to keep going in the second half. Another goal from Mary-Catherine in the second half gave the girls confidence before two goals in two minutes ended the Alban City comeback. The match finished 2-5.

Boys B were back in action, again Prae Wood were the opposition who were a physically dominating team. Alban City struggled in the first half conceding 3 goals. However the boys got back into the game playing some lovely two and one touch passing moves which created lots of chances. Prae Wood scored a goal against the run of play, ACS then hit the post and side netting before Cam bundled in his third goal of the season.

Netball vs GFS 0-10

ACS started their Netball season off with a game against Gardenfields, for most of the girls it was their first ever Netball match and Mrs Wonnocott was really impressed with their resilience to keep playing and trying to throw and catch the ball accurately despite the other teams domination. The girls eventually lost 10-0, after conceding a few last minute shots.
