As part of the curriculum development, Year 6 will now be competing against one another in small tournaments focussing on one sport per half term. For the first half term his meant the inaugural Year 6 football tournament where each class were split into teams of 4 and competed in a champions league style group stage and subsequent knock out rounds, with the top two teams from each group going on to play for the class cup. The bottom two teams went into the ‘plate’ finals.
It was brilliant to see so many different people playing together of all abilities, supporting one another to succeed.
For Magenta the group stage finished like this:
| Team | Wins | Draws | Losses | Pts |
| Mary-C | 1 | 2 | 0 | 5 |
| Betty | 1 | 1 | 1 | 4 |
| Anna | 0 | 3 | 0 | 3 |
| Phoebe | 0 | 2 | 1 | 2 |
| Team | Wins | Draws | Losses | Pts |
| Eliza | 2 | 1 | 0 | 7 |
| Scarlett | 1 | 2 | 0 | 5 |
| Zoe | 0 | 2 | 1 | 2 |
| Hannah | 0 | 1 | 2 | 1 |
The finals for the plate and cup were close contests with the eventual winners:
Cup – Scarlett (c), Harry D, Dottie and Teadora.
Plate – Anna (c), James, Kosi and Jack.
For Amethyst the group stage finished like this:
| Team | Wins | Draws | Losses | Pts |
| Jemima | 2 | 1 | 0 | 7 |
| Amber | 1 | 2 | 0 | 5 |
| Irem | 1 | 1 | 1 | 4 |
| Betsy | 0 | 0 | 3 | 0 |
| Team | Wins | Draws | Losses | Pts |
| Molly | 3 | 0 | 0 | 9 |
| Elizabeth | 2 | 0 | 1 | 6 |
| Emmeline | 1 | 0 | 2 | 3 |
| Jorgie | 0 | 0 | 3 | 0 |
The finals for the plate and cup were close contests with the eventual winners:

The next competition Year 6 will be competing in will be a Netball tournament near Christmas.
