Wednesday 1st November – Girls Football

On Wednesday, the Alban City girls team travelled across to Mandeville to play their second league fixture of the season. Alban City started off well with some good attacking play from Mary-Catherine, Scarlett and Alice all getting good touches in the opposition box. This was supported brilliantly by the strong defensive play of Elizabeth, Eliza, Zoe and Phoebe in goal. Mary-Catherine picked up the ball inside the opposition half and drove into the box before finishing smartly to put ACS one nil up. She repeated this again 2 minutes later to score her second and rounded off a great first half hat trick by picking up on a goalkeeper error to cooly finish the half 3-0 up. ACS switched things around and showed off the passing they have been working on in training and put together some nice sequences in the second half with Jemima and Betty combining well to support the attack and create lots of chances. After all her hard work and determination Indigo found space on the edge of the box following a passage of passes from ACS to smash a shot hard and low into the back of the net. ACS finished the match 4-0 victors.
