Girls have played two fixtures since the last blog post, one in the league where Elizabeth commanded in defence and helped out with a goal to beat Mandeville 1-0. The girls also played their cup quarter final against Gardenfields which was a right humdinger.
Gardenfields proved too strong in the first half scoring 2 very well worked goals including a brilliant team passing move. Alban City stepped up their own levels in the second half and replied instantly with a goal from Jemima and equalised with plenty of time left. ACS pushed for a winner but couldn’t take their chances. Extra time went by in a flash with both teams having opportunities to win it, which meant penalties loomed. Scarlett was unlucky to not save any penalties but got close to all three. M-C scored hers but a miss meant that Gardenfields went through to the semi-final. A brilliant effort from the all the girls involved showing great fight.
