We’ve had another great week in year 5, getting used to our new timetables and classrooms. The children have done great work in both Maths and English as we’ve written diary entries and letters, and thought about number magnitude and how to partition numbers.
This week in Music we used the new djembe drums and learnt about the different sounds that can be made with them. We can’t wait to get playing more songs and improve our rhythm-making.
It’s been great learning about the Ancient Greeks – did you know they didn’t eat beans because they were superstitious? Maybe do some research about their homes, food and clothing so that you are ready for writing a report about them next week!
Spellings have gone out today so please practise for next Friday. Also, keep reading at home!
Have a lovely weekend! Let’s hope the sun keeps shining so it gets warmer!
