Arguments (balanced!) and Arithmetic

We finished writing our balanced arguments about pig heart transplants this week and all came to the conclusion that it is an incredibly controversial topic, recognising that there are both advantages and disadvantages to consider.  Towards the end of the week, we have continued to read Pig Heart Boy and are preparing to write from an adult’s perspective next week, as we recount some of the events in the book.

In maths, we have looked at multiplication and division of 10, 100, 1000, using the pyramid model and finished the week by completing an arithmetic quiz so that we can start to focus on the areas that we need to develop.

Music lessons have been filled with the sound of the Harvest Tango and everyone is really excited to start using the Djembe drums. More on that later in the term.  In Science, we have carried out an in depth look at the blood vessels  and their functions as vital elements of the circulatory system.

Next week, as part of our PSHE curriculum, we look forward to our visit with Crucial Crew at St Albans Fire Station.  This trip aims to help children assess the risks and dangers of everyday activities and learn to act accordingly.
