Sequencing and planning has been the focus in English this week. Last week we explored what makes up a sentence such as nouns, verbs and adjectives so that this week we could extend that further with more adventurous vocabulary for our pirate story and we’ve even used a thesaurus to help. We are ready to become authors next week!
In Maths we have been securing our understanding of place value, using resources to help us ‘visualise’ numbers and see how they are made up, as well as counting on and predicting which digits will change.
Now we know what humans need to survive, we are going to move on to thinking about how we can keep ourselves healthy. This week, in science, we explored different exercises and the effect this has on our heart rate. We discussed the positive impact this has on our physical and mental wellbeing.
In Geography we are continuing to find out more about Rainforests and have loved placing the animals we created for homework on our display of the layers. We are also considering the impact of deforestation and have written a letter to Mrs Stray about what we have learnt about the impact on us.
Our Art lesson this week has seen the creation of beautiful wax resist Autumn leaves.
Hope you all had a great weeekend.
Best wishes
