A fantastic full week of learning last week. (apologies for the delay, we forgot to publish our blog last week!)
In English we continued with our non-chronological report on the ‘Tigglewump’. There was actually some breaking news, as Mr Edwards came and told the classes that he had seen a Tigglewump in the playground. As you can imagine, this caused a lot of excitement and during the following playtime children did some investigating themselves and spotted ‘an eye’, ‘some green fur’, ‘some tiny footprints and ‘a nibbled leaf’. This week, we are creating our own creature to write a report about.
In Maths we added two digit numbers using a written method. . We used dienes, tens and ones, to break it down and visualise the calculations. Lots of practice really helped us get to grips with this.
In Geography we drew some fabulous maps of the local area around school. We are looking forward to following our maps to go on a walk of the local area to see what we can see.
In RE we were very lucky to have Mrs Kohli and Mrs Wood talk to us about how Hindus and Christians pray and give thanks to God. The children were very respectful and interested in hearing from from them, and asked some very thoughtful questions.
Best wishes
