This week we had a fantastic Money Sense workshop from Citizens Advice and the children learnt lots about how to handle their finances in the future! There were 3 games to play to try and win money, work (star jumps), the bank, loans and an investment opportunity. Year 5 were extremely enthusiastic and definitely learnt to not always trust a deal that seems too good to be true!
In RE we had great fun building some Sukkahs as we learnt about the Jewish festival of Sukkot! People eat in the shelters and some even sleep there! It helps Jewish people remember the Israelites time in the desert and that God provides for and shelters them in difficult times.
In English, we started our topic on The Highwayman, thinking about poetic devices and how to use our inference skills. Next week we will work on writing our very own verses for the poem and our performance techniques.
Feelit is a weekly PSHE-style session where we watch videos about different emotions and discuss our experiences with them. So far this year we have looked at: inspired, hopeless, empathetic, anxious, delighted and vulnerable. It would be great to have discussions at home about these emotions to help the children understand them.
Have a lovely weekend and see you on Monday!
