A busy baking week

We have used the cooking room lots this week! We made our second batch of scones but this time with a Mediterranean theme – olives, feta cheese, sun dried tomatoes and herbs galore. The skills we focused on were grating, mixing, kneading and weighing. Also in English, we worked on designing chocolate bars to send to a company. Lots of great posters and sweet treats were made. Next week we will be writing persuasive letters to accompany our other marketing ideas.

In RE we created stained glass window artwork to represent Judaism. Lots of different designs and heaps of creativity was used!

In Maths we have been looking at the area of different shapes. Rectangles and squares are easy to calculate – just remember to use cm squared! However, you can estimate the area of irregular shapes by identifying the whole squares and piecing together the rest.

Have a lovely weekend and see you on Monday for the last week of term.
