Volcanoes have featured heavily in our learning this week! In Geography we learnt about the features of a volcano, how it erupts and the hazards associated with that. The children all became Tranio from our book ‘Escape from Pompeii’ and wrote powerful diary entries imagining they were there when Vesuvius erupted. Everyone wrote in first person, used past tense and included emotive vocabulary.

In Maths we continued to work on multiplication including short multiplication. In PSHE we thought about pleasant and unpleasant feelings and had a discussion about all feelings being important. In Art we are practising model making using plasticine. In Science we planned an investigation to test which surfaces have the most friction and we are excited to carry out our investigation next week. Watch this space!
