It has been a short week, with the bank holiday and our trip to London, but we have still managed to fit a lot in!
The highlight has got to be the wonderful trip to the National Gallery. We had an amazing day and the children did ACS proud. The experience the children had was worth the long coach journey and everyone was amazed by the enormity of the gallery and the paintings. We enjoyed being ‘art detectives’ and discussing ‘A Regatta on the Grand Canal’ by Canaletto as well as many other beautiful works of art. Everyone was exhausted at the end of the day (especially the adults)! Thank you so much to the parent volunteers who came with us. We couldn’t have done it without you and really appreciated having you there.
In English we have focused on writing a recount of our visit to London. The children are writing really well in the past tense and using a variety of time connectives.
In Maths we have been looking at rules of divisibility and thinking of different ways to prove calculations and answers.
In Geography we discussed and sorted physical and human features, and looked at lots of examples of them in South Africa.
We hope you have a lovely weekend.
Best wishes
