What a week, we hope the children have had a lot of fun and told you all about our trip to the Tutankhamun Experience! It was so exciting to learn about the artefacts of the Pharaohs, and take a virtual trip through the Egyptian afterlife. Everyone (including the adults!) had a lot of fun with a VR game that saw us all playing as Howard Carter exploring clues and the tomb of Tutankhamun itself, we had all sorts of Howard Carters, big and small! We were very impressed by how well the children handled our many train journeys from London.
In English the children have completed their viking character profiles, and focused on how they can make their Norse God stand out and be noticeable.
For maths, we have been all about fractions this week. The children have made some lovely bar models to help them find fractions of wholes. We have been very proud of their presentation when making these!
In science our fantastic animal skulls came back out, as we labelled each of the teeth in different animal’s skulls to deduce if they were carnivores, herbivores or omnivores. Did you know a crocodile only has conical teeth? Or that cats have carnassial teeth that help them chew meat?
We hope you all have a lovely rest after such a busy week, have a lovely weekend and we’ll see you at sports day next week! – Year 4 Team
