We can’t believe we have come to the end of our penultimate half term of Year 2. Time certainly flies when you’re having fun!
This week in Year 2, children have been learning about seeds and bulbs as part of their Science lessons. We learnt that we can eat some bulbs such as garlic and onions. Children enjoyed cutting these open to see what they are like inside. Out of all of the vegetables and fruits we looked at we found that the advocado had the biggest seed. We may try to plant it and see what happens. Perhaps you can plant some seeds at home and observe how they grow?
Children have worked very hard this week to write and illustrate some lovely stories. They have also worked well to answer questions about stories they read. Well done, everyone!
A great term ended on a high with sports day. It was so lovely to see everyone joining in and supporting each other, everyone giving their best and smiling all the way through. The weather was perfect, and so were the children.
We haven’t set any homework, but there are spellings to learn for a test on the first friday back, and of course keep up the reading!
Have a lovely half term break.
