This week, children have been very creative in maths. They were set the challenge of using a set number of straws to create different 2D shapes. We even discovered the name of a 12 sided shape! Do you know it?
In History, we have been learning about the life of Nelson Mandela. We did some ‘hot seating’ and children imagined that they were in his shoes and other children asked brilliant questions about his life. Did you know that he became the president of South Africa?
Also in Year 2 this week, children have taken great care to create fantastic pieces of art which will all go on display in the school art exhibition on the 10th July. We have brilliant, budding artists! Children have been further developing their story writing this week too! Watch out for some funny aliens in English books.
We have continued to enjoy our new playground this week with the wonderful weather. There have been some very inventive creations using the lose parts outside, such as a rollercoaster and dens.
Finally, we all had great fun dancing away at the school disco!
Have a lovely weekend
