Cracking Careers!

This week in Year 2 we have all been very busy. In English, we read a story about a monster which comes to life at the flick of a switch. Children then designed their own monsters before writing amusing instruction manuals to explain how to use the monsters. We had great fun reading them! In maths we have been learning about differnt methods to solve word problems.

At the end of the week, we celebrated ‘Careers Day’. We had a facinating talk from a parent who manages many aspects of airports. It was interesting to learn how many jobs there are to do in order for people to travel safely all over the world.

We also had a talk from a market researcher who finds out which products may be sucessful. We took part in a survey about our favourite ice-cream flavours. Perhaps you can do your own survey at home with a tally chart?

Finally, we enjoyed an amazing performance from a youth orchestra. We were able to experience and learn about instruments such as the double base, flutes and timpani drums.

We hope to see you at the Summer Fair this weekend.

Have a lovely time.

The Year 2 team.
