It was wonderful to see so many of you at our open evening on Thursday, and we hope you all saw the art in the school gallery! We really enjoyed getting to catch up and celebrate all of the great work the children have done this year, and discuss how exciting it was seeing them have their first morning in Year 5!
In lessons this week, the children have worked through English and continued writing their informal Year 4 survival guides. They have been a lot of fun to read so far!
We have been shape focused in maths this week, starting with coordinates and translating shapes, and finishing by creating repeating spirolateral patterns.
The children have started researching local animals, including characteristics, families and risks, as part of a final presentation for our living things unit in Science.
Finally, in Art we have spent this morning working with modeling clay to craft our tiles with the insides of fruits and vegetables featuring up close. We are looking forward to letting them dry so we can paint them over next week!
We hope you stay cool this weekend, and enjoy the sun! – Year 4 Team
