Nature Hunt!

This week in English we have continued to think about the seasons through our class text, If Winter Comes, Tell it I’m not here.  We had a class discussion about the winter season and worked on our sentence skills to create a sentence about what it is that we really like about that time of year.

In Maths, we have been looking at number sequencing to ten and using our Maths vocabulary to explain how we know a given number is larger or smaller.   We have used our knowledge to help us identify missing numbers in a number line and organising numbers given in different representations.

On Tuesday, we have a wonderful nature walk around the grounds of our local church, St Peter’s.  The children had lots of fun exploring and spotting signs of autumn.  Many thanks for all the parents that volunteered and came along to support us with our outing.

In Phonics, we have revisited the Phase 5 phonics sounds; ay, ou, ie and ea and practised reading these sounds within words as well as writing sentences using the words.

As this week is Digital Innovation Week, we were lucky to attend a computing workshop and learnt all about coding with robots and used a tablet to help us.

Have a lovely weekend!
