Well that’s another fabulous week done in Year 2. As the children embrace the new ways of working we are starting to see their independence and creativity grow.
In English have enjoyed looking at the features of information texts, furthering our knowledge about castles and matching up information with a subheading. We are pretty much experts on castles now! Ask us anything you want about them and we will probably know the answer!
In Maths we have been looking at ’10 and more’ and using a tens frame to visualise the addition calculation. This led on to making larger 2-digit numbers, by exchanging ten ones for a ten using resources.
Materials is our science topic and we have spent the week sorting and describing different materials. We have learnt some new vocabulary such as transparent and opaque and been on material hunts in the classroom.
The week ended with a fabulous workshop with the the Code Ninjas.
Please log into your child’s Google Classroom account, which you have all been sent an invitation to join. Every week we will post the week’s spellings and any other notices, so it is important that everyone has access to this. Please ask us if you have any questions about Google Classroom.
Have a great weekend.
