In English we have read ‘The Castle the King Built’ and written some great sentences about the people who helped the King. We thought about their skills and the materials they used and why. For example the blacksmith who melted and hammered metal to make horseshoes and armour.
In Maths we have really thought about the place value of 2 digit numbers and used resources to show the number in different ways, including beadstrings, tens and ones, cherry models and money. The children have really enjoyed this and demonstrated a good understanding.
In Science we have got very excited about making our own set of Top Trumps cards, considering the properties of each material and giving them a ‘score’.
In PSHE we had a good discussion about the feeling of ‘anger’, how it feels and what we can do to calm ourselves down.
As the weather is changing and very unpredictable, please can we ask that everyone brings in a coat, as we go outside in all weathers.
We are looking forward to visiting St Peter’s church on Monday afternoon to look at the features of a church and find out about their hidden meanings.
Have a great weekend.
