Week 6 – we separated some sticks!

We’ve had a busy week in year 5 getting our head around multiplying and dividing by 10, 100 and 1000 and writing our non-chronological reports about the Olympic Games!

In Science, we separated a mixture using filter paper, funnels and different beakers. We identified that the salt and sugar would be very hard to separate from the water but managed to get some in the filter paper. The children worked excellently and thought scientifically about how to sort the objects separated into a carroll diagram afterwards.

In Music this week, the children wrote their own compositions using the treble clef, the time signature 4/4 and the notes B, A and G. They worked wonderfully in pairs and really embraced this new learning.

Have a lovely weekend and see you on Monday!
