This week in year three, we have been continuing our learning on the Stone Age. In English, we have been researching the different animals that lived in the Stone Age and have written reports about them. We have linked this to our history lessons, where we have been investigating how and why Stone Age people counted.
In maths, we have been using the column method to subtract two-digit numbers. Once we knew how to lay it out neatly, we found it very useful.
In Spanish we have been learning how to say numbers to 10. In science, we conducted experiments on three different rocks to determine which was the most suitable for building a wall around the school. The children enjoyed trying to chip the rocks with rulers the most!
For homework this week, a science quiz has been set on Google Classroom. If you would like a paper copy, it can be provided. Spellings are also on Google Classroom as well as being stuck in the children’s books.
Have a wonderful weekend.
The Y3 team.
