The penultimate week…

In English this week we have been reading “The Highwayman” poem, considering what poetic devices are used and how the story uses language. Next week we will focus on performance and write our own verses to include into the poem. Get your rhyming brains ready!

In Maths, we have been looking at factors and multiples of numbers. This is why times tables are so important to learn! Numbers can have common factors and multiples and we have looked at ways of finding these. Did you know that square numbers have an odd number of factors?

The Science experiment this week was rather chilly – everyone attempted to melt their own ice block and some people managed to fully melt it in 10 minutes! We then plotted our results (the length of the block every minute) and created line graphs to show the rate of melting.

It’s been great to see our DT moving toys come along. We have been using woodwork and decoration skills to put them together. We will finish them off next week.

Have a great weekend and see you on Monday!
