(no title)

It has been a busy week this week in year 3. Along with our normal lessons we have been learning about Remembrance day and Anti bullying week.

For remembrance day we made collages that reminded us of the sacrifices people have made for us. The children spent a long time on these and were very proud of them! We also have had a focus on anti bullying week and how to be kind to one another. The children had lovely ideas and we all had  fun creating helping hands or posters.

For the rest of the week we have been continuing to look at column method in maths. Towards the end of the week we have introduced word problems and spoken about what is and isn’t important in them.  The children have been showing great progress with the column method and will  continue to look at this as the school years continues.

In English we have been looking at similes and metaphors. This has been a bit of a challenge but the children have tried really hard to understand the difference between them. Let alone the correct way to use them in a piece of writing.

In science we have started to look at ways to be healthy and our first lesson was on a healthy diet. The children drew and labeled their own plates. In history we continued with the Iron age, our main focus on being what the houses would have been like.

The homework and spellings are on google classroom as always, if you require a paper copy they will be left outside the classroom for you.

We hope you have a lovely weekend.

From the Year 3 team.
