We have really enjoyed our first week back at school after the Christmas holiday. It was lovely to see all the children again and hear about their adventures over the break.
In English this week we have started looking at new story names ‘War and Peas’. We have been describing the two main characters using exciting adjectives and hot seating each other using questions we created, to get to know the characters better. We will continue looking at the story and focusing on speech marks and different ways to write the word said.
In maths we have began multiplication. We have started by looking at repeated addition and arrays. Noticing that these are different strategies to work out multiplication questions. We will be focusing on multiplication next week, mainly using the 3 and 4 times tables.
We have started Geography and our topic is mountains. We looked at the structure of the earth and discussed the features of them. In science we have started learning about light and shadow. Our focus this week was light sources.
As usual the homework is on Google Classroom and the spelling have been stuck in the children’s spelling books.
