What to do with the remainders

We have had a busy week this week in year 3.

In Maths we have been looking at division with remainders. Noticing that is the number can’t be divisible equally then there will be some left over. We used different methods to represent this and by the end of the week we started to understand it more.

We have incorporated our DT topic into our English lessons this week. We researched some very interesting facts about pizzas with the view to writing a non chronological report about them in the coming week.  Focusing on using conjunctions to correctly connect two simple sentences together.

In science we have been looking at shadow and what objects best create a shadow. We have been looking at the difference between transpake, translucent and opaque objects and conducted an experiment to see which one created the best shadow and why. In geography we looked at how different mountains are formed and had a main focus on fold mountains. In RE we have been continuing to look at Islam and have been focusing on the features of a Mosque and what makes them important.

Next week is our final extra PE lesson on Monday so please can the children bring in their PE kits for Monday if they had a club on Friday.

Homework was given to each child on Friday but it has also been posted on Google Classroom. Spellings is the same as always.

We hope you have a lovely weekend,

The year 3 team
