Happy Easter

Our final week of this term has been very busy!

In Maths we have begun learning about short multiplication and using the column method. We realised that we have to start by multiplying the numbers in the ones column first and then the tens. We progressed onto regrouping and will continue to look at this after the easter break.

In English we finished looking at the book ‘Escape from Pompeii’. We finished the unit by writing a newspaper report about the event. We had to include the main features of a newspaper report; headlines, subheadings, introduction and eyewitness accounts.

Throughout our DT topic we have been researching and designing pizza. Both classes have made them and we have rave reviews.

We also  had lots of fun designing and creating animals out of plasticine. We also created the animals habitat out of recycling that we brought into school. We will be finishing these after half-term.

We haven’t given the children any spellings to learn of the two week break but I would be great if the children could continue with their reading and practice their times tables on TTRS.

We hope you have a lovely Easter and we are looking forward to the final term of the year!
