A polar bear in a rainforest?

What a lovely week we have had in Year 2 made all the better by the sunshine.

In English we have all used our imagination and created a ‘habitat Swap’ for an animal.  Imagine seeing a penguin in the city, a tiger in the Arctic or a polar bear in the rainforest!  We have all decided on an animal and a habitat and written a plan for our writing next week.  We have thought about how our animals would feel, what they would see and hear and what they will eat in their strange habitat!

In Maths we have progressed onto division with remainders.  We have grasped this really well.

Micro habitats has been our topic in Science and we have learnt all about how creatures have adapted to live under logs and in rockpools.  Ask us how a beetle has adapted to living under a log or how a sea anenome catches its food.

Next week we are looking forward to our first Field Friday this year.  Thank you to those of you who have signed up to walk to the field with us – the sign up sheet is outside the classroom if you have a spare hour on a friday afternoon.

On Friday we enjoyed another yoga lesson as a perfect end to our busy week.

Have a lovely weekend
