It has been another lovely, surprisingly warm week.
In maths this week we have continued division but have progressed into using short division methods such as ‘the bus stop method’. We have been using different manipulatives to help us understand the new method. We have also been focusing on our times tables as knowing them will help throughout these lessons.
In English we are continuing to use ‘The Dream Giver’ as inspiration. We have started to plan instructions to help a trainee dream giver at their new job. We have been looking at ways that we can improve simple sentences and using a thesaurus to help us.
In science this week we conducted an experiment to see if all magnets are the same strength. In history we have been using clues to figure out what a Roman town would look like. In PE we have been lucky enough to have members of the SPURS football organisation to teach a PE lesson.
Next Tuesday Year 3 are going on their school trip to Verulamium museum and the surrounding area. Please can children ensure that they bring a waterproof coat, a water bottle, a snack and a packed lunch. Children are welcome to wear comfortable footwear as there will be lots of walking. An email has been sent to all parents giving them all the information you need. We are really looking forward to a lovely day out.
There is homework on Google Classroom and spellings are in their books and on Google Classroom.
We hope you have a lovely long weekend,
The Year 3 team.
