It’s a wonderful world!

This week we have been learning about the upper course of the River Thames through our Oddizzi journey along the river. We were shown the source of the River Thames at Thames Head, which is marked with a stone marker. However, if the weather has been dry, often you can’t see any water at this point. The River Thames starts at a spring, where water bubbles up from underground and will then flow downstream.

In RE we have been considering the story of ‘The Fall’ of humanity, looking at the story of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden and at how they betrayed God because they had been tricked by the serpent. We have made our own pop up Gardens of Eden to illustrate this story.

In art, we have been studying the patterns of natural items such as leaves, sticks, bark and flowers. We looked closely at their forms and used different coloured felt pens to add texture and light and shade.

We have been studying the different features of vertebrates and invertebrates in Science. We have looked at what makes them similar or different to each other and had the opportunity to pick some to draw and study more closely.

In Spanish, we have been learning the names of musical instruments and on the theme of music have begun to prepare for our Summer Concert in the last week.

We hope you have an enjoyable weekend.
