Thank you to everyone who came along to Open Evening to see our amazing work and help to raise money for the Alban City School Grove. It was lovely to see you all.
We have had a busy week! We have started our last English topic – a survival guide to Year 4 in the style of Diary of a Wimpy Kid. We have been learning about different kinds of past tense and the differences between them.
In maths we have been plotting points to make different shapes and practising our symmetry skills where the mirror line is close to the pattern or shape or much further away.
We have continued our river study of the River Thames and have looked at how the river has been used in London over the years. A fun fact that we have learned is that Norway once gave Henry III a polar bear in 1252, which was allowed to swim in the River Thames!
We enjoyed this week creating pictures of the northern lights using chalk to create the swirling and curtain like effects of the lights dancing in the sky. They are displayed in both classrooms. They are really effective!
This week was also an exciting week, as we were able to visit our new classrooms properly for our transition morning.
